It has been a fantastic year in video gaming, and 2010 is shaping up to be even better, here is a list of my top 5 games in 2009.
5 - Dirt 2, now I wasn’t a huge fan of the original Dirt, but I decided to pick up Dirt 2 as I was looking for a racing game to add my collection and to mix up my gaming a bit. Dirt 2 instantly had me hooked and I put hour after hour into this game all the way until I had completely rinsed the single player. It is a game that any racing fan should at least try, truly excellent.
4 - Assassins Creed 2, again another game where I wasn’t at all fond of the first, but there is just something about Assassins Creed 2 that pulled me in. The graphics are excellent, the gameplay is spot on and the storyline isn’t half bad either. The game also has hours upon hours of possible playtime if you want to get all viewpoints and collectibles. If you’re a fan of the action-adventure genre then buy this game.
3 - Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, this game was originally my number two of 2009 but after a little though about what games I enjoyed the most it dropped down a peg. Now don’t get me wrong I love MW2 and Infinity Ward have done a fantastic job with their sequel but I think the single player was a bit on the thin side. You can tell that the focus on this game was the multiplayer and I am in the firm belief that a single player experience shouldn’t suffer because of a multiplayer aspect.
2 - Dragon Age Origins, I am big fan of the RPG genre, well western RPG’s anyway, never been a huge fan of the JRPG’s. Dragon Age I think is one of the best RPG games I have played on a console. The storyline was one that sucked me in from the off. This is a game that if you place it in your console drive at 11:00pm at night, you may just loose a whole nights sleep. Bioware in my eyes are definitely one of the kings in the RPG business and they proved their quality with Dragon Age.
1 - Uncharted 2 Among Thieves, one word can describe Uncharted 2, AMAZING! This game for me is probably one of the best games I have ever played. From start to finish this game is a pure action roller coaster with no brakes. The storyline is fantastic and the graphics are definitely the best you are going to see on any console to date. On top of this Naughty Dog threw in a multiplayer mode that was very well thought out and is different from any other multiplayer experience you will have and was also in my opinion the best multiplayer experience of 2009. Naughty Dog got the credit they deserved for this game when they picked up the VGA PS3 game of the year, best graphics of the year and the VGA game of the year award itself. If you own a PS3 then buy this game, if you don’t own a PS3 then buy one with this game.
Well I did indeed think about this and, NFS Shift was good for about 2 hours then it became boring.
Akham Asylum was an awesome game but I completed it in like 5 hours or somthing stupid like that, and I have no desire to run about solving riddle and collecting teeth.
Borderlands is another awesome game but it does get boring after a little while and its a game that really is crap is played on your own, its a multiplayer game and it should have been made so.
I have issues with your top trouty, firstly NFS Shiftwas better than Dirt 2, and Batman has to be in that top 5 sumware even if its joint 5th, borderlands has gota be up thee aswell.
